The opening par 4 is a perfect example of how to follow where the architect guides you. Take the water out of play by teeing up on the right side of the tee box and aim left toward the bunker. Just be sure you hit a club that can’t reach the bunker off the tee.

Choose the club that can’t go over the green and swing away. If the flag is front or left you will probably have a downhill putt so beware of your speed!
This is a 3 shot hole for all but the longest of hitters so strategy is key. You can get away with 3 wood of the tee and a mid-iron or hybrid as your lay-up. Leave yourself a full swing into the shallow green.
Play your tee shot down the right side of the fairway to avoid the wooded area on the left. The second shot plays longer than you think so if you are between clubs go with the extra one and play to the middle or back of the green. There is an “illegal” drop area near the green to help you out if you don’t clear the ravine with your approach.
This par 3 gives the illusion of looking longer than it really is. Pay no attention to the forced carry! Just select the club for the yardage, trust it, and swing away. The greatest challenge here is committing to the yardage even though it looks longer.
This straight away par 5 is a great opportunity for a good score. Make sure you hit a shot that can’t reach the bunkers and play to your favorite yardage so you have a comfortable 3rd shot.
This long, downhill par 3 plays one club shorter than your range finder tells you. Anything in the middle of the green will set you up for a good score so don’t get greedy here.
A double-dogleg finishing hole will test your mental resolve before you make your way back to the clubhouse. Hit your tee shot to the left side of the fairway so you can avoid the tree for your lay-up. Lay-up to your favorite yardage and take advantage of a large green to set yourself up for a birdie putt. This entire hole plays uphill so take a little extra club for each shot.
Be sure to get back into your pre-shot routine after the turn so that your mind and body get back to the rhythm of your game. The fairway bunker is a perfect aiming point to avoid the trees on the right. Use the club that you have no chance to reach it with (3w or hybrid?) and swing away to leave it short of the bunker on the left side of the fairway. From there, play your short iron to the left side of the green to avoid the front bunker.
Once again, the “fat” part of the hole is found by aiming at the left fairway bunker. On the second shot, play the club that you are sure to reach the middle or back of the green with to open up the hole.
The ideal second shot is taken from the 100-125 yard markers so plan your tee shot accordingly, there is no need to hit driver on this short par 4. The second shot plays a touch uphill and requires good distance control but the better miss is a little long rather than short. So, if you are between clubs take the longer one.
If you can carry the fairway bunker off the tee, go for it! Otherwise, be sure you can’t reach the water and aim toward the lake. If this is a three-shot hole for you consider using 3-wood off the tee to avoid all trouble and use the widest part of the fairway. Your layup should stay short of the next fairway bunker to leave you a full approach into the two-tiered green.
This short par three is a great opportunity for a good score, but club selection is important as the green is set at an angle. Be sure you are using a club that can’t go over the green in line with the flag and go ahead and swing away.
Play to the 125 marker on this hole again. Select the club that gets you there (does that mean hybrid off the tee?) and aim a bit right to take advantage of any kick down the hill.
Undoubtedly the toughest green on the course, this uphill par 3 is a challenge even if you make it to the putting surface. Take an extra club, maybe two, and pay attention to the hole location. A rangefinder comes in VERY handy on this hole!
Take advantage of this short par 4 by leaving yourself with a full wedge shot into the green. Its easy to want to knock it as close as possible but you’ll want the spin created by a full swing to hold the green that ends up sloping away from you.
The left side of the fairway is the place to be so aim for the clubhouse and swing away. If you end up blocked out by the trees to the right take your medicine and punch out short of the lake to leave yourself a chance to get up-and-down to save par. Playing to the middle of the green from the fairway is advisable and causes the least amount of trouble regardless of the hole location.
The recently renovated opening hole is a perfect example of how to follow where the architect guides you.

One of our signature holes, this picturesque par 5 requires some strategy to take advantage of the ribbon of fairway that winds the length of the hole. If you can carry the fairway bunker off the tee, go for it!
The clubhouse is in view and you have a chance to finish your round on a high note!
